new kid in town

yes, i know...i am officially the last person in the world to start blogging.  i have not started a blog thus far for several reasons.  #1 - i didn't think i would have time to adequately post to satisfy my (surely) massive throngs of followers. #2 - blogger guilt, no thanks - i have enough working mom guilt, hate-to-clean-the-house-so-my-husband-does-it guilt, and i do employ a jewish nanny who shares all of the guilt in her life with me as well.  #3 - would anybody really want to read what i write?

well, here's hoping.

i do hope to bring you some cute ideas for stationery at the very least.  calliespondence is a little business i started late last year after designing my best friend brin's wedding invitation last summer.  she actually got compliments on them and i thought...really!?  so i decided to go for it...and let a few friends know i was finally taking the leap and they amazed me with their generosity.  their generosity extended to letting me design their birth announcements and stationery (with no prior portfolio of such), becoming my very own PR fleet telling others far and wide about calliespondence and just being so unbelievably positive.  i have the best friends!  no really, i do.

here's one example - rewind back to fall of 2009.  i sent my good friends jen and betsey an email with the news that i was going to dive in and do this stationery business thing.  no less than five minutes later, betsey (who was pregnant at the time) responded telling me she would like to sign a contract having calliespondence design her baby's birth announcement.  i mean, my friends rock!

here is the final product.  mmm, letterpress.  sweet helen was born on november 13th (her dad tom's birthday!) and she could not be ANY cuter.  when she was teeny, betsey thought that she looked like a little doll and wanted to use soft pinks as the palette for the announcement.  the word i think of when i see this announcement is simply:  pretty.  just like helen and her mom!

helen is a well-appointed gal and she also already has calling cards, too.

ok, that's all for now.  it IS friday night after all, and RBB and i have a red envelope from netflix with our names on it...

xoxo
