atlanta themed engagement party invitation

i love atlanta.  i loved growing up here, but i really love living here as an adult (gulp...am i really an adult?) and raising a family.  great town.  every time i see the skyline when i drive in from out of town, my heart beats a little faster.  a few months ago, my friend brin asked me to create invitations with a navy blue and orange color palette (to match the wedding colors, and no they did not go to auburn or God forbid florida, even though they are more of a royal blue - anyway.) for her friends paige and steve's engagement party she was planning.  the party's theme was atlanta, seeing as how neither are from here, but met here and will set up shop here in a-town.  love it!

now here is the best part...the party was catered by the varsity.  now, if you're not from these parts, you may not know about the varsity.  in short, it's an institution in downtown atlanta (athens too) that serves chiliburgers, hot dogs (naked dog walking!  that's how you order a plain hot dog to go), onion rings and FOs, which are frosted oranges.  mmm.  growing up, we would eat there almost every time we passed through downtown and we all loved it.  when you walk in and go to the counter, everybody behind it is shouting WHAT'LL YA HAVE?!  and yes, truly shouting...you just have to go there to see what i mean.  oh, and they give out these little hats to wear which makes the whole experience just that much more enjoyable.

for the party invitations, we featured a skyline at the top and then worked 'atlanta' into the verbiage so people would know what's up.  check them out!

the couple of honor also tied the knot just a couple of weeks ago - congrats paige and steve!!
