giveaway time - CLOSED

do you attend baby showers?  are you pregnant (or planning to be soon)?  ok, then this giveaway is for you.

first of all, why has it been forever since i've done a giveaway?!  not cool.  to make up for lost time, i have *two* giveaways for you!!!  get excited.  these would be perfect for the expectant mama, or for just anyone to give as a baby gift.  here goes...

1) mambo nursing pillow

this is random, i know.  but i participated in a market research study the other day (um, they were giving participants $50 target giftcards.  i can tear up some target dollas y'all.) and these came with.  i do not need a nursing pillow right now, so i'd love to give it to someone who does!

it's a good one.  one side is firm foam that is perfect for laying the bambino on to nurse...the other side is softer and used for tummy time or just general baby lounging...plus it has a vibrating mechanism to soothe your baby.  what will they think of next.

2) set of 25 letterpressed foldover baby thank you cards.

i love these.  i had them printed in orange ink and sold out, and now have green and chocolate brown in stock.  those two colors look good with so many envelope colors and we can tailor them to whatever you'd like!  (i.e. pink envelopes for a girl, navy for a boy, turquoise for gender neutral, etc.)  all of my sweet friends who were so kind to give rinne a little something received cards with brown ink, pink envelopes and a coordinating cupcake liner.

TO ENTER:
leave a comment telling me what you wanted to change your name to when you were younger.

i totally wanted to be kelly - i hated that no one else had my name and thought that kelly would be a pretty seamless transaction.  of course, once i got older i really liked that my name was more unusual.  oh - i also coveted staci (and i would dot the "i" with a heart - duh).

unless you tell me otherwise in your comment, i'll consider your entry for both giveaways and pick two winners on monday night to announce on tuesday morning.

yay!

xoxo

  1. Love me a good giveaway and all of my friends are starting to get preggers, so I'd like to be entered for both, please! :) TOTALLY wanted to be Anna when I was younger. (For the record, LOVE Callie as a name.)

Hey Callie! I'm preggo right now and can use any and all things baby related. When I was younger I desperately wanted to be Nicole after Nicole Eggert from Charles in Charge. I loved that show!

  4. I always wanted to be Tiffany- I also dotted my i with a heart. I may have watched too many episodes of Saved by the Bell... But, since my name was short, I never had a nickname and always wanted one! So, Tiff was great! Lol!!

  5. I never wanted to change my first name because I thought it was SO COOL that I had the same name as the oh so talented 80's singer. I still can't resist busting a move when I hear "I Think We're Alone Now". Where is Tiffany these days, btw? But, I did want to change my last name, and I wrote it on all the Hello Kitty items I had...Tiffany Lynn McIntyre. I still want Joey Joe to be mine. :)

  6. Crystal. Crystal Kates would have a nice ring to it...but I think I will stick with Betsey.

  8. Although I only have the four-legged variety of children, I am surrounded by soon-to-be-mommies! This would certainly put a dent in those baby shower bills.

Although I don't remember, Jenifer keeps telling me that I walked around naming everything Lindsay - bunny rabbits, fish, dolls, etc... Give your cuz a call to fact check. ;)

    1. My parents decided to pay tribute to both sides of the family – so I am Margaret Barbara. I sound like a 90 year old lady! When I was younger I always wished I could have been just Maggie not Margaret. I even wanted to have my middle name be May (just like the Rob Stewart song)! Put me in for note cards. THANKS!

  10. Great question! When I was growing up I wanted my name to be Alyssa instead of Melissa.

Evidently, my mom wanted to name me Alyssa, but when the nurse came in post-delivery and asked her if she wanted to see her daughter Melissa, she told the nurse that she didn't have a daughter by that name. The nurse started to remind her, "remember dear? you had a baby girl this morning?" To which she replied, "of course I remember that, but we haven't named her yet." The nurse informed her that my dad had taken care of that little task while my mom was sleeping. He thought that Alyssa was a "made-up" name and went with Melissa instead. When my mom asked where in the world my middle name, Diane, came from, his response was "well I've never met a Diane I didn't like..." NOT necessarily the thing you say to a woman in recovery from delivery!

As a result, I always WISHED to be my alter-ego Alyssa! :)

  13. Omg, this entry requirements is awesome. I wanted to be Alexis for yeeeears. Hmmm, I wonder if my subconscious spoke to me and made me get my current car, a Lexus....

  14. This entry IS awesome. I wanted to be Merecedes. I know, I know, perhaps I also wanted to be a stripper? Or maybe I watched "License to Drive" one too many times. I also pretended like I drove a white rabbit convertible.

  15. What a fun entry requirement! :) Even though it's similar to Lisa I had a friend when I was younger named Elise and I always thought that was such a cool name. Aside from that I often wish(ed) I had just been named Lisa, which I've always been called my entire life, rather than my actual formal name of Melissa, which no one has called me ever. Friends I've known for a while are surprised when they find out my name is actually Melissa.

  16. I actually wanted to be a Callie! Like 8 girls in my class were also Nichole's (but without the 'H' --they lacked my awesomeness to deserve it;) jk) I thought Callie was such a spunky unique name. Funny how that goes.

  17. Hey miss Callie! As a child I longed to be called Sam like the older girl on my culdesac. However I'm super curious about Perry's reason for wanting to be called Penelope! For the record I hated how different my name was growing up too, but now love it. Oh, and I'm going for baby #3 in October so I'd love the beautiful notecards :)

  18. I only remember hating my name and wanting it to be something different in 3rd grade when i was always reese's pieces or peanut butter cups. I don't remember what name I wanted to be, but any other name would have done. Not too many months later, I began to love my name, and have never looked back. I give my parents credit for great name choice. i have loved it, and after working in health care and witnessing some less wonderful name choices, am super grateful for mine.

  19. OOOOooooOOOO Please, please, please let it be me! I am due with my first in September and haven't bought ONE SINGLE THING :) I need all the help I can get!

As a child, I apparently wanted to change my name to Eugene...yep-EUGENE! The reason, according to my mom, was that one time while visiting my grandparents, a neighbor of theirs, Eugene, told me that it was too bad I wasn't a little boy because if I had been, I could stand up to pee OUTSIDE just like Eugene did. So I came home and begged my mom to change my name to Eugene so that I could stand to pee and go outside like the boys do. I still wish I could do that now, but I would prefer to do it with a name other than Eugene ;)

  20. I'm prego and would love either prize! I wanted to change my name to Tracy. I really liked anything ending in a "y".

  21. i wanted to go by my middle name robin but my mom wouldn't let me. growing up i would have 8 jennifer's in a class....probably why my children will receive names that are not in the social security's top 500. and you can ask steven i check religiously to make sure! xoxo
    and i'll take some notecards!!

  22. I totally wanted to be Tabitha- inspired from BEWITCHED of course! So much cooler than being named Dixie in OHIO! Whenever I was at my grandparents I requested that my grandmother call me by Tabitha. She of course abided and I was thrilled:) hope I win for my sister.

  23. my name was a unique name and i was jealous of everyone that could get personalized keychains and rainbow pencils and the like. plus everyone always said my name wrong!!! i always knew in roll call or an announcement they were about to say my name when there would be a looonnngggg pause before butchering my name.
so i wanted to be jessica. perhaps it was jessica rabbit and how she was so fabulous or all the cool older popular girls names were jessica. but alas i resorted to naming my american girl doll Jessica (the kind that look like you). bahaha. thanks for the great giveaway! where do you find market research? i'd totally sign up for that!

  24. Seeing as how I had a "boy" name growing up and would get mail from the Boy Scouts and later on the Citadel I loved the name Taryn. So random. But now I love the name Kyle!

  25. I liked having a unique name, but sometimes wanted a shorter one word name. Changed constantly (nothing as good as Staci!). One was Anne.....which I did use as my confirmation name, and coincidentally ended up being my niece's name (incidentally, born the night I was confirmed - how weird is that??).

  26. it's not my first name i wanted to change so much but my nicknames...red, ditz. so i guess i wanted to change my hair color to blonde and my last name to jones.

  27. I wanted my name to be Melanie -- she was my favorite babysitter and I thought it sounded so grown-up.

  28. Have admired these notecards for a while now! Would be great for all the thank you notes I need to write from Baby Oliver! I wanted to be a Meagan all throughout elementary school. Tiffany was a close second...

  29. I always like Lindsay better than Leslie, less likely to have some of the unpleasant middle school taunting that I received. :)

  30. for jessica k...bentley mercedes. love it :)

  31. Callie, great giveaways! I could use either of them with my brand new little boy, Ralston.

So funny that you wanted to be a Kelly. Being a Kelley myself, I wished that it was spelled with an "I" instead of "EY" so that I could dot the "I" with a heart :).

  32. how FUN! i'm expecting my first and will definitely need both of these items in due time. I totally wanted to be Kelly, too - as in Kelly Kapowski. Thennnn, I pretended to be a tomboy (read: still took ballet, played the piano and was picked last for kickball), so I decided I wanted to be Alex.

  33. No one could ever pronounce my name when I was younger until it was "said" to them! I was called Brine, Brinie, Bryan, etc. So, I definitely wanted to be called something different! I few times, I even told people that my name was Renee (my middle name) just because it was easier for them to grasp. It all back fired when one of my after school activities came up to my parents to speak about their daughter "Renee" and my parents were like,"who is that!" : )
