the golden isles

ahhhh...nothing like the first beach trip of the year.  in short, we had a ball in st. simons.

we drove under trees dripping with spanish moss.

we introduced a little one to the ocean...as she eyes it warily.

(she loved it.)

but quickly tuckered out, and found what the beach is best for...napping.

well, and snacking as evidenced by the crumbs.

we indulged in a delicious new treat - homemade chocolate coca-cola cake.  someone liked it so much they just had to get seconds in an illegal manner.

we went to the village.

and ate scrumptious food (this was at the sandcastle).

and also saw the lighthouse.

we played at the playground, which includes copious amounts of jumping.

we had quite a traffic jam back at the house.

oh, and we played a little dress up with our cousins too.

it was a wonderful week, and the weather (and company) couldn't have been better.  beryl who?!
