holiday card time and a vintage christmas list

i know, i know...the holidays already?!  i was at costco last week (looove costco) and they have copious amounts of christmas decorations up.  really??  how about some spooky lawn tombstones sold in a pack of 80 or some bulk candy corn first?  anyway.  it got me thinking, and like clockwork, some of my on-the-ball clients emailed me about holiday cards...it is that time -- which excites me to no end!

is anybody else super stoked to get the mail every day?!  no, just me?  sure, sometimes there are bills...junk mail....occasionally even the dreaded secret camera traffic ticket (not that i've ever gotten one of those...) but for the most part, mail is good.  wedding invitations, thank you notes, birth announcements, moving cards, party invitations - what's not to like?!  i get a little giddy every time i see a colored envelope in there.  means something good has to be inside.  all this to say...december is the BEST time to get the mail.  holiday cards (with cute pictures to boot!) in the mailbox every day!  i love it.

last year i could not decide between two envelope colors and liner options...so i did two.  while that was fun, i am just doing one for everybody this year :)
chocolate brown with a foil tree lining...those little red dots were velvety to the touch.  couldn't resist!
return address to match, too.  makes your life sooo much easier.
fell hard for this liner as well...i think by the time it arrived in people's mailboxes, the card was covered in glitter.  but how fab is that paper?!  rush's picture courtesy of dylan blue photography (they're great!).

with my blog megaphone, i encourage you to start thinking about your holiday cards now - it will make the process actually FUN because you will not be rushed!  email us if you would like to get started.  i'll also be giving you guys some ideas next week to get you inspired and in the holiday spirit - it IS october, after all. :)

here's a little something else to get in the holiday mood.  just because it's friday and i'm feeling a little punchy after a long week, i would like to share with you a christmas list of mine that my mom unearthed recently.  i don't even know where to start with it, so just....here.
clearly my 11-year-old self had excellent taste in footwear, music and literature.  and no, i did not get a kitten...even though i circumvented santa's argument about them growing up to be cats.

have a great weekend and hope to see you at the collier hills fall festival!!

  3. This list is to die for! Thank you Cathy (er, Santa) for saving it! I cannot believe how much personality was expressed in a simple wish list! I love all the contingencies you put in there for tapes in case you were not getting a cd player! And Boys II Men and Amy Grant- I'm right there with you girl!!
And you finally got your kitten...15 years later!
    Love it!

  5. That is HILARIOUS and so much to say! Seriously, I love that you were thinking BIG even back then. I mean, kitten, Cd player AND leather jacket on one list! (along with the kind offer to share a new computer)

I will pay you in drinks, laughs, and as many dollars as I can scrounge up, if you actually find and wear a pair of those shoes in black...Omg...
