new in the etsy shop: letterpressed baby thank you notes

can i get an "aye" from any new moms that had trouble finding cute baby thank you notes?!  especially for an expecting mother who does..not..know..what..she..is..having.  omg.  we did not find out the gender before rush was born, and i scoured my local paper stores for gender-neutral thank yous.  i was only able to find cards with pink or blue booties, pink or blue rocking horses, pink or blue footprints...and on and on.  now, i have nothing against all of these baby motifs and do find them rather cute - i just was unable to use any of them.  i ended up finding some super cute letterpressed cards with yellow ducks all over them from the now defunct cotton idea studio, but i had to import them all the way from california!  geez louise.

so.  when my very dear friend merrell (she of the blue/green baby shower and the nest baby announcement) told me the wonderful news last fall that she was expecting, of course i was over the moon to begin with...and then she told me that she was not going to find out the gender of the baby, but would like for me to design her some fun letterpressed gender-neutral thank you notes! i was just plain elated then.  i had been wanting to design and print some, but needed a little assurance that at least a few would be spoken for.

i had an idea of what an affordable amount would be for merrell to pay for these cards (she wanted 100), and i had to order 350 to make it a really attractive price for her.  when they were delivered, i thought to myself...i had better hurry up and have another baby so i can use these, because there is NO WAY i am going to be able to get rid of all of these cards.  250 to be exact!  well...through etsy, baby shower gifts and other procreating client friends, i am OUT.  wiped clean.  crazy.

here are the initial thank you notes, used by merrell and other new or expecting moms...  i offered envelopes in the colors of matching orange (shown), yellow, turquoise and fuchsia.  all bold colors.  love it.  the tried and true pastels are great, but bold colors for baby stationery just seems so fresh to me.

and here are the new iteration of those thank you notes...this time, i did a double run in chocolate brown and spring green.  so many fun envelope pairings!!

a teeny logo even gets a little face time in a corner on the back of the card.  these are printed on 120 lb. white cover stock, so they are nice and weighty.

p.s. i think it's easier to get through the mound of thank you notes for baby gifts on pretty stationery.  just sayin'.
