kate spade's home...aieee!

y'all.  i got a peek at these pictures the other day on urban grace interiors' blog, who obtained the images from the selby, a photography blog (who i was unaware of until that day, but earned the most street cred possible with this feature).  they went in and shot these amazing photographs of kate and andy spade's new york city abode.  now, you already know i love me some kate spade.  picture me slack-jawed at my computer screen the whole time i was scrolling through these.  i think you might be too...her home is reminiscent of her stores - lots of gallery walls, stripes, pops of bright colors and just oozes style, natch.  the way these photographs were shot, you get a real sense of how they live in and use their space.  and of course she sits around at her vanity killing time - she's KATE SPADE for crying out loud, people!!

there is not one thing i don't love about this kitchen.  that was a double negative, but let's roll with it.

i can definitely appreciate a family with a well stocked (and aesthetically pleasing to boot) bar.

i feel so cool because i have a chair almost just like the one that andy is sitting in. 

 there is something so charming about a cluttered, yellowing-papered collage of a bulletin board that i loved when i was 14 and still love.

what i love about where they live is that it's decorated in a way that is just fearless.  modern art paired with preppy stripes?  sure!  stacks of books everywhere you turn (wouldn't people thing that's, gasp, messy?!) and 30+ framed pictures on one table...why not! 

just so you guys know i'm not bluffing, here is a picture of the chair that i was telling you all about earlier.  buddy, you just secured your spot in the burnette household for at least twenty more years for having the good fortune to have two cousins in kate spade's home.  well played!  well...and you housed one of my favorite pictures of rush during his newborn session with aharon hill photography.  you have that going for you too.
