giveaway winner!

whenever i do giveaways, i always struggle at how to fairly pick a winner.  rush drew my first winner, i let random.org do the honors on the second one, and i thought of a new mechanism for this one, last night.  you have to have been trapped under a rock to not know that last night was the superbowl, correct?  packers, steelers, fergie trying to be axl rose, dancers in lit-up neon full bodysuits...ring a bell?  oh good!  i knew the neon bodysuits would jog your memory.  i was actually really glad those people were around to watch because they kept my attention during the halftime show, unlike the peas.  what happened to petty, the stones, u2 - real classics that all generations can appreciate!  omg i sound SO old.  but judging from the facebook statuses i saw, i think some of you will agree.

anyhow.  i digress.  we've got a winner to announce!

so i thought i would take the score spread from the big game and let that dictate who won the prize!  i got a little nervous in the beginning of the game when there was a big point difference...because i only got 23 comments.  i couldn't accomodate a huge spread - but luckily the steelers stepped up their game and they ended with a six point difference.  and the #6 comment was...brin black!

woo hoo!  y'all know brin; we've featured her amazing wedding on the blog and also her holiday card, more recently.  sounds like she has figured out a good plan for life in hawaii...which is perfect, because i've never been and would love a gratis place to stay.  rwanda also holds a special meaning to her, as that is where she fell in love with a sweet little orphanage and vowed to raise money for them via small voices foundation.  check it out!

you all had the best comments - they made me smile, laugh, look up places on a map and be happy because it looks like if i ever do end up in beaufort, i'll have some friends there to keep me company!  my mom's especially made me laugh because she didn't list a place, just noted that she needs to live wherever rush lives.  how cute.  and that's good because when i put rush down to sleep last night, i asked him, "who's coming to play with you tomorrow?"  his answer - an enthusiastic "GA GA!!!!!!!!!!!!," which is what he calls my mom...so i think the feeling is mutual.

congrats to brin, and because a post is oh so boring without images, here is a picture of a lovely porch that looks so inviting and homey.

  1. Ahhhhhhh!!! I am so excited! I watched the game last night, but was so bored I can't even remember enough about how the points came to be, so I can't say something witty about the 6 point difference. Um, go packers!?

BTW, am I the only one who liked the half time show? I sort of want a light up body suit........
